See Sentosa Island and Faber Peak with a Singapore Cable Car Ticket

Many visitors to Singapore also plan to spend time on Sentosa Island to enjoy the beaches, theme parks and many other attractions.  Options to get to Sentosa Island include more conventional bus and train options, however you may not realise that there is also an extensive cable car network to enable people to more easily get to and around Sentosa Island and to the peak of Mount Faber.

During our recent visit to Singapore, our family really enjoyed catching the Sentosa Cable Car across the water to Sentosa Island as an activity in its own right. We really enjoyed being able to see the spectacular views from up high, and it definitely made it easier to get around the very hilly island.  Check out our detailed review below of the Singapore Cable Car system to learn more about what you can expect and also how to book your discounted Singapore Cable Car ticket.

Singapore Cable Car Service

The Singapore Cable Car service is operated by the One Faber Group. The Singapore Cable Car Sky Network includes two lines. The first line runs from HarbourFront Tower on the Singapore mainland and takes you across to Sentosa Station on Sentosa Island. From Sentosa Island, you can then access three other cable car stations on Sentosa Island.  As you can see from our photos below the cable car has an amazing view across the harbour towards Sentosa Island.

The second line runs from Harbour Front Tower to Faber Peak Singapore, which is a higher mountain on the main Singapore Island.

In our case, we boarded at HarbourFront Tower and caught the cable car to Sentosa Island. We then visited Adventure Cove before using the cable car service to get a fantastic bird’s eye view over Sentosa Island. We then caught the cable car back to HarbourFront Tower and continued up to the peak of Mount Faber, before returning back to HarbourFront Tower.

By purchasing a Singapore Cable Car Sky Pass, you will get to enjoy both cable car lines which offer fantastic birds-eye views of Singapore and Sentosa Island. On a clear day, at the peak of Mount Faber you will experience amazing views over both the city of Singapore and Sentosa Island.

Cable Car Dining Singapore

Another unique experience offered on the Singapore Cable Car is cable car dining. We did not have the opportunity to test this service as we had our three children with us, however the opportunity to have a 4-course dinner while enjoying night-time views over Singapore sounds quite special.

Singapore Cable Car – What to Expect

The main attraction of the Singapore cable cars is the fantastic views of Sentosa Island and Mt Faber. We first caught the cable car from HarbourFront Tower to Sentosa Station before spending much of the day at Adventure Cove Singapore. For this part of the journey, we enjoyed great views over the Harbour and back towards the city of Singapore.

We also had great timing and were able to see a cruise ship at the HarbourFront Cruise Ship Terminal.

As we neared Sentosa Island we were able to get a fantastic view of a number of the resort’s attractions such as the SEA Life Aquarium, the Hard Rock Hotel as well as Universal Studios Singapore in the background.

As we neared Sentosa Station we were able to get a bird’s eye view of Adventure Cove Singapore water park which certainly whetted our appetite for a fun day ahead. It also gave us a good idea of the water park layout.  Click here to check out our detailed review of Adventure Cove Singapore Water Park.

As we drew close to the Sentosa Cable Car Station we got a great view of the Sentosa Island Merlion which is one of the island’s most iconic structures and at 37m tall is absolutely enormous. Apparently, this merlion will be demolished shortly to make way for a large new project on Sentosa Island.

Sentosa Island by Cable Car

There are four cable car stations on Sentosa Island: Sentosa Station, Merlion Station, Imbiah Lookout Station and Silosa Point Station. The cable cars are a quick and convenient way to get around the island and provide a great perspective on the scenery and the huge range of attractions and experiences on the island.

Singapore Cable Car Location

We found that the easiest way to get around Singapore was by MRT or bus. Singapore Cable Car is a short MRT journey from the centre of Singapore. For example, from Clarke Quay MRT, it takes 7 minutes (3 stops) on the North East line to get to HarbourFront MRT. When you arrive at HarbourFront MRT, take Exit B for the HarbourFront Centre and Singapore Cable Car which is located in HarbourFront Tower 2. The HarbourFront Cable Car station is about a 5-minute walk from HarbourFront MRT.

Singapore Cable Car Opening Hours

On Monday to Thursday as well as Sunday, the Singapore Cable Car service operates from 8:45 am to 10:00 pm with the last boarding at 9:30 pm. The opening hours are extended on Friday and Saturday with the cable car service operating from 8:45 am to 12:00 am with the last boarding at 11:30 pm.
